WHAT IS ETHICS?
Values and practices
Media ethics is a set of principles and standards that we apply as part of a process to solve ethical dilemmas, particularly in the practice of journalism. Media ethics also involves critical analyses of media issues. New technology is shaping the way we communicate, which has prompted discussions about ethics across political and cultural borders and within new online communities.
How can Hawaiian and other Indigenous values and practices improve media ethics guidelines? How are Pacific nations practicing ethics? This website was created with the goal of launching those discussions.
See the Center for Journalism Ethics: Global Media Ethics for information on the global realm.
